I'd like to tell you some about the psychotherapy I do and about my background. Then, feel free to contact me and we can set up a brief phone consultation (at no charge) to discuss what you want to work on, my background, and if working together might be a good fit.
People I work with are often seeking help for relief from older patterns of emotions, relationship, perception, and behavior that are now causing them problems, and then implementing new patterns for greater satisfaction and ability in their lives.
I have diverse training and experience as a psychotherapist which is very helpful as I try to help each person I work with with collaboration, compassion, integrity, effectiveness, and as a unique individual. Technically, I draw on several of the major schools of psychotherapy to work towards goals we would discuss together (psychoanalytic psychotherapy, Schema therapy, DBT, CBT, Jungian psychology, and ACT).
In addition to my private practice in Evanston, I work with NorthShore University HealthSystems (formally ENH) in general adult therapy and eating disorders therapy for adolescents and adults. I have a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute and a three-year post-graduate certificate in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from the Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis.
I directly bill the Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Illinois PPO and HMO-I (NorthShore Medical Group) insurance plans. My non-insurance fee is $100 per therapy hour. I have sliding scale hours available. Even if I do not work with your insurance plan directly, I can assist you with out-of-network reimbursement for most PPO plans.
Seeking psychotherapy is something that takes real courage and real need and can be of great benefit. I'd like to take this opportunity to congratulate you on your efforts you are making now on your own behalf. Let me know if I might be able to help.
Take care,
Curt Kearney
