I'd like to tell you some about the psychotherapy
I do and about my background. Then, if you'd like, feel free to contact
me and we can set up a brief phone consultation (at no charge).
I try to help each person I work with through
collaboration, creativity, sensitivity, and as a unique individual.
Our work might focus on mostly present day concerns, such as managing
feelings, behaviors, and situations in the present, or working on
more lifelong themes, or a combination of the two. Complaints that
I often work with in my practice include depression, anxieties, relationship
difficulties, fears, inhibitions, frustrations, problems with food
or eating, procrastination, and bipolar disorder. I draw on several
of the major schools of psychotherapy to individualize working towards
goals we would identify together. (Treatment modalities include psychoanalytic
psychotherapy, Schema therapy, DBT, CBT, Jungian psychology, and
ACT.)
I work as part of Meridian
Psychiatric Partners,
a group practice. We can directly bill Blue Cross/Blue Shield of
Illinois PPO insurance and the Northwestern University Aetna CAPS
student insurance. I am also a member of the NorthShore University
HealthSystems Medical Group and can bill their BCBS HMO-Illinois
plan. My non-insurance fee is $120 per therapy hour. I have sliding
scale hours available. Even if we do not work with your insurance
plan directly, we can assist with out-of-network reimbursement
for most PPO plans.
Seeking psychotherapy is something that takes real
courage and real need and can be of important benefit. I'd like to
take this opportunity to congratulate you on the efforts you are
making. Let me know if I might be able to be of help.
Take care,
Curt Kearney
